Oak Leaves Are The Last To Fall

I’ve once heard a story that explain why oak leaves fall only when spring is already there…

I don’t remember much but more or less it was like follows:

Evil chose a place where to go and asked the Goddess if he could go to live in the woods. The Godess says yes he could go, but only when all trees’ leaves were gone and he had to return when the first leave would be born.

So the trees of the woods were all very scared that Evil was going to live among them: every tree tried to hold its leaves but slowly, one after the other, all leaves from all tree were gone, except for the Oak that managed to keep most of its leaves until next spring so Evil never came to the woods. The trees found a way to trick Evil and never had to share their place with it.
